Bugs and Suggestions

I created a page for Media_Player_Bugs_and_Suggestions. I found a couple bugs and listed them there, hopefully others will do the same. Too bad I can't edit the page for this project. I understand the desire to keep it locked, but it also means any new content pages are relegated to links from Talk: pages like this one. Sad face. --notnotpeter 13:04, 1 Oct 2007 (PDT)

Custom Advertising Features

Can anyone tell me if the Adobe Media Player might allow content providers to tailor advertising streams to viewers independent of main video content? This would be huge. Personally, I would not mind watching commercials if they were tailored specifically to my interests. Advertisers would like this as well as advertising would be "stickier". An "Ad per viewer" might be worth a whole lot more if this is possible.

Also, can the Adobe Media Player prevent someone from "fast forwarding" through a commercial. This would also be huge.

Response: I'm assuming that using Apollo with some back-end software you could tailor your "ad server" to target video ads based on anything such as tags. But I do not know how it works for sure.

How can developers customize the AIR Media Player

I would like to see a framework that I can use to address specific interests related to a demographic, publish such a player with built in feeds, media, and skins (fly fishing for example), which can be extended by the user (add other RSS feeds).

Will this be possible?

I have looked thru the forum here on AMP and see that several are looking for answers on how to customize the player. The Adobe datasheet mentions customization such as Integrated branding architecture using industry standard graphics formats, creation of banner ads, webbadges, adding weblinks, and generally customizing and branding the player. Where are these tools located? I don't see any connection, button or link at the player. When I downloaded AMP, I also was prompted to download the latest version of AIR, but don't have the slightest idea what it is for. Is there an example to follow, or some templates that are sufficient to get going. This AMP is awesome. I would like to see a way to index or categorize my thumbnails of my shows and create headers such as the interface area where there are subject buttons for the downloaded shows. thanks for any help.

DRM & interaction with RealPlayer v11 ?

Can someone provide an overview of the plan for adding DRM to Flash?

I'd also like to know if Flash DRM will be honored by Real's download to disk feature or will be incompatible so RealPlayer v11 will not download a DRM protected Flash file.

Where do I find RSS Video feeds to feed into AMP?

I've spent a few hours trying to find one rss video feed and haven't found any. I'd like to see a little more detail on how to skin the player. The two collest features of this player besides the advertising peice is not well documented. We need to walk throughs here. Otherwise AWESOME JOB! Very exciting stuff. I've been waiting for this to be available for months. Adobe Rocks!

Create Subchannels on Feed

I want to create "subchannels" for my feed, but can't figure out how. The weather channel is an example of this. You click the weather channel. It then displays three shows which you can click on. If you click on one of the shows, it takes you to a new screen with each movie clip.

I want to have my channel set up where the channel is split up into several categories that can be clicked on. When one of the categories is clicked on, the movie clips are listed, just like the weather channel.
