What Is the Flash Ajax Video Component?

The Adobe™ Flash™ Ajax Video (FAVideo) component is a small, open source Flash component that you can use to provide video playback within an Ajax application. It exposes all of the formatting and video playback controls necessary to build a video player customized entirely using HTML and Javascript.

When Should I Use the FAVideo?

The FAVideo component is useful in the following situations:

Download and Installation

The FAVideo component including full source code (BSD License) and sample usage can be downloaded here: FAVideo.zip

Note: If you view the sample HTML files locally it is possible that you may encounter a security error and the video files will fail to load/play. When a local web page connects to video on a website (such as if you are developing/testing locally), a security dialog will be displayed by the Flash Player. This can be disabled for testing -- details are in this documentation: http://livedocs.adobe.com/flash/8/main/00001611.html
