System Requirements
Minimum system requirements for the Adobe Mobile Packager system are:
- Microsoft Windows XP SP2
- 1 GHz Pentium-class processor
- 256 MB of memory
- 450 MB of free disk space
Version Information
The version of this software is Adobe Mobile Packager 1.1.
Installation Instructions
- Unzip the contents of the Adobe Mobile Packager.zip.
- Run Setup.exe and complete the installation.
- For installing the relevant SDK’s, please refer to the User Guide for detailed instructions.
- Click on the Adobe Mobile Packager icon to start the application.
Known Issues
- In the packager, the Application version field accepts version numbers in the xx.xx.xx format – this is a requirement from Symbian SDK.
- The Adobe Mobile Packager is supported only on Windows XP SP2.
- If your application name contains the following special characters (<, >, |,& ) then the package created will not install on Windows Mobile – This is restriction imposed by the operating system.
- The UID entered by the user is not validated, for Symbian packages, the Adobe Mobile Packager automatically generates a UID in the test region. The User can always change the UID, but the UID entered is NOT validated by the application.
Fixed Issues
- Relative path as Output folder is not supported in this release – The user will be shown an error dialog when UNC path is provided in the Output folder field.
What's New
The package workflow for Adobe Mobile Packager has been updated for a much more seamless end-user experience.
Welcome Screen
- The version details for the SDKs to be downloaded have been added in the Welcome Screen.
- End users no longer need to download CAB SDK, it is extracted to the appropriate folders as part of the installation.
- Clicking the ‘Test Configuration’ link will show the status of all the SDK installed.
- ‘User Manual’ link will open the online help manual. ‘Packaging Tutorials’ will take the user to the site where there are tutorials on how to use the Adobe Mobile Packager.
Packager Screen
- Mobile Platform choice is now the first option and the list is currently populated with Windows Mobile and Symbian.
- A ‘View Supported Devices’ link is provided — this will always retrieve the list of supported devices for the selected Mobile Platform .
- In context warning and error reporting is a new addition wherein the user will be notified of errors and warnings as soon as they tab out of the various input fields.
